Wilson Canyon is a dramatic natural cut through the heart of a desert mountain range, made by the West Walker River in northwest Nevada. It contains a rich & beautiful juxtaposition of Great Basin wilderness, verdant river habitat & an artist's palette of colorful cliffs & hills. It's also one of the few places for many miles around where the public has access to the West Walker River.

Natural resources

Over the past decade dirt bikes & other off-road vehicles (ORVs) at Wilson Canyon have followed a national trend of crowding out nearly all other uses. ORV destruction of hills & careless camping practices have devastated the once serene & scenic areas around Wilson Canyon. Changing the pattern of abuse is hard: ORV groups nationwide are backed by a powerful corporate ORV manufacturer lobby that profits from this destruction while disguising itself as a network of "pro-access" groups.

Damage & threats

The truth about ORVs

The Wilson Canyon Alliance is a grassroots group of  future-thinking citizens, responsible dirt bike riders & concerned landowners. We are dedicated to stopping the destruction, rehabilitating & enhancing Wilson Canyon for the enjoyment of future generations.
